About Energy Policy

The mission of the Energy Division is to promote sound economic development policies and programs both to retain existing business and industry and foster new investment and job creation throughout the state. Through grants from the US Department of Energy, the Energy Division provides a broad range of energy efficiency programs to business and industry, state and local governments, schools, and residential consumers. All programs focus on energy efficiency measures and promote energy cost and dollar savings.

These technical and financial assistance programs and services have helped implement projects that reduce energy bills, improve facilities and increase productivity. State energy initiatives seek to ensure adequate, affordable, reliable, flexible, and high-quality fuel supplies.. These services are essential to maintain and enhance the competitiveness of Tennessee business and industry in an increasingly competitive global economy and to ensure job retention and growth.
